The photo below is a
great picture of Calgary's
Saddledome and downtown looking toward the North West
- the
building in the front is the Saddledome, home of the NHL
Calgary Flames. It's
located at the
Calgary Exhibition &
Stampede but that not a roof caved in from the snow!
Also note the tall tower
in the background, called the
Calgary Tower
(nee: Husky tower) was copied to shape the torch for the 1988 Winter Olympics
held in Calgary.

Our city is proud to host many special events and
conventions...every year in the second week of July the world famous Calgary
Exhibition and Stampede takes place. The whole city joins in during that week to
cut loose and have fun. Even downtown bankers wear jeans and cowboy hats!
Because of this western hospitality, we were honoured (Canadian spelling eh!)
that the Rotarians decided to hold their huge annual convention in our city 1996,
the World Police and Fire Games in 1997, and of course don't forget the 1988
Winter Olympics were held here also!
Take some time and visit these web sites for more
info on the mountains and skiing/hiking going on...
Kananaskis, Banff and Lake
Louise. Beautiful country. Fresh air, friendly people, and lots of elbow
room!
